this is my umu recount
Umu recount.
Last friday I was so excited for a Umu since I haven’t had one ever. I couldn’t wait and I think the class couldn’t too. Mr T was working on the umu all day and the samoan community helped too. As we were waiting in class before lunch the class was informed that the umu was getting unwrapped and if we wanted to watch. I stared outside to get a glimpse of smoke passing through the sky. We went down to the court to watch in a moment I felt so warm from the heat of the umu. I thought the field would go up in flames but to my surprise it didn’t. It was one of our teachers' last day and I couldn't get over the fact that she was leaving that day because she was here with us since the start of term. This really bothered me! I watched as Mr T, Mr Tyrell and our samoan community started to take off newspaper and banana leaves. mmmmm that smell was flavourful and I couldn’t wait till I could eat that. I couldn’t wait but we were last to get our food. I got food and… the flavour bursted in my mouth and I felt like I was on a pacific island. The chop suey was amazing and the raw fish was delicious too. I felt that I needed another bowl but there was not that much left. So I didn’t eat anymore. That will be something that I will never forget the yummy taste of umu.

this is me and Jenesys Mary mackillop Info report
Mary was born in Melbourne Australia, she was the eldest out of 8 siblings. Her mother was Flora and father was Alexander,Alexander have had trouble providing for the family and went through a lot of hardship, and often relied on relatives. When she was 18 she moved to south Australia in the township of penola. Mary wanted poor kids to have a school. So with that dream she opened up her first school ST Joseph’s. which was made in a stable. Some priests misunderstood Mary, like bishop Sheil he thought Mary was being disobedient and kicked her out. But 5 months later she was brought back in. Mary was often sick from a sickness called rheumatism, and in 1902 she was paralyzed in her right side. Despite the pain she still went on and did her best educate children and be the best sister she could be. But sadly in 1909 8th of August she passed away because of her sickness.
Mary did a lot of wonderful deeds while she was alive, she shows us the ways and rules we shall follow and till this very day the josephite sisters do their duty and those in need. ‘Never see a need and do nothing’.
